The Ministry of Construction, Communication and Transport (WUMU) was established in April, 2016 after the general election and replaced the former Ministry of Infrastructure and Communication.
The Ministry of Construction, Communication and Transportation began the colonial period at the time known as the Public Works Department when it was tasked with managing public services, including labor, roads, electricity, water and housing. In 1964, it was split into two ministries namely the Ministry of Construction, Roads and Energy and the Ministry of Water and Housing.
