About the product
Most explorations of the Ngorongoro Crater occur over the course of a day or two, from the comfort of a safari vehicle. This tour however, provides unprecedented intimacy with this collapsed volcano as you embark on a week long hiking trip through the varied craters and plateaus that characterize this prehistoric landscape. Ancient village trails wander up escarpments, into valleys and past countless waterfalls, exposing guests to the quiet corners of the region that have sustained rural tribes for centuries.
Tanzania wildlife & Cultural Safari – 7days
Day 1: Arusha to Ngorongoro – Drive to the Ngorongoro Crater with a safari on route, before setting up camp in Nainokanoka Village
Day 2: Nainokanoka to Kamnana – Hike through the Embulimbuli Depression to the Kamnana Campsite
Day 3: Kamnana to Empakaai – Hike to the crater rim before descending to the floor
Day 4: Empakaai to Naiyobi – Hike around the crater rim and towards Naiyobi Village
Day 5: Naiyobi to Mwongoni – Hike into the highlands arriving at an authentic Masai Village
Day 6: Mwongoni to Ngaresero – Hike to the foot of Mount Lengai and spend the day relaxing beneath a waterfall
Day 7: Ngaresero to Arusha – Summit Mount Lengai in time for sunrise, and unwind on the alkaline shores of Lake Natron
