We are very happy with the support from the professional crew of guides, porters and cook under the able stewardship of main guides Michael, Peter and Elia. My wife and I went on our first Safari in October 2019, and I really had no idea about the best way to go about booking. What I quickly learned is that there are plenty of western based operators who will charge you a small fortune. Now, don’t get me wrong, they have a place and I am sure there are plenty of people willing to pay a premium for the perceived dependability of a company based in LA, New York, London etc. I say ‘perceived’ because, in the end, I had such good service from Kitano Tours, that I really began to question how much value those big companies really add. Just my opinion, your mileage may vary. We booked a 4 day, 3 night safari with a guide and a cook. We camped which was excellent. We went to Tarangire National Park, The Serengetti and finally the Ngorongoro crater. If you need a little more comfort, Emmanuel and the Kitano Tours And Safaris team can arrange lodges instead of camping for an extra fee. It was truly amazing, I didn’t know what to expect but this trip exceeded my expectations is every way. Our booking covered the 1 for transfers to and from JRO airport, the first and last night in a hotel in Arusha (we were given a choice of 3) the services of an English speaking driver/guide (who had the sharpest eyes and spotting skills imaginable) our cook (who also helped with camp set-up and breakdown) 3 meals each day, campsite fees, and park entry fees. Only tips and souvenirs were extra. Emmanuel also added a short shopping tour of Arusha on our last morning. Emmanuel and Kitano Tours And Safaris are super-dependable and trustworthy. It feels really good to be putting money directly into the hands of local companies and not have fat margins skimmed off by middlemen. For me, this is really important. Go on a safari and see these magnificent animals, it was wonderful.

The team is really eager to make your every wish true. They are super friendly and helpful. My only suggestion would be to develop a diet that's adequate for the mountain.
The food is good but complex carbs and heavy fat will not be processed the same way at higher altitudes.
Apart from that it's all really good.

We had the most amazing time during our stay in Tanzania in the care of the Mwitta's wonderful staff at the Springland hotel, the great guides and team of porters during our Kili climb and a amazing guide on Safari. Everyone was very welcoming and friendly and I just cannot say enough nice words, except we have experienced above and beyond service, made new friends and memories to last us a lifetime. Or at least until we go back next year...Just can't get enough!! It was FANTASTIC!!!

Such a wonderful experience we had with Kitano Tours And Safaris - Mwita, Hamisi, Idi and all the other porters and staff who helped us summit Kili and Moudy who made our safari an exciting and awesome adventure. The lovely staff at Springlands and Highlands and in the wildcamp.. and what an a beautiful country Tanzania is... I think I left a little part of my heart there.... the breathtaking views will be etched in my mind forever. Definitely highly recommend Kitano Tours And Safaris! so organized and hospitable from getting us ready to hit the mountain to cleaning the hiking boots upon our return! they look brand new!

We did a 5 day Marangu route combination of kilimanjaro and safari. We went in november so we ended up having private experiences for both. On the hike we had Hamisi and Kelvin for guided and they were absolutely fantastic. The experience was unforgettable and the service was incredible. Then for the safari we had paul and his ability to spot animals and listen to radio communication to find everything for us was fantastic- we saw the big 5! My only partial complaint would be that we ate practically the same lunch for all 8 days and there was no showcasing of local cuisine. Otherwise Kitano Tours And Safaris was incredible from the moment we showed interest to the moment they dropped us off at the airport.

First of all, I have to say, that it was a spontaneous decision to enrol for the 6 days Machame Route Trip to the Mount Kilimanjaro. Therefore I have not had any expectations what so ever since I did not do any research prior to this amazing adventure. Of course, it was an exhausting experience due to the daily workout, but the impressions of the beautiful nature is just unforgettable and compensates all the effort. And to be honest, I rather experience an adventure during my vacation instead of hanging around the beach all day long. Anyways. Our guides were really helpful and carrying. They supported and pushed us when needed. I do honor their ability to empathize with their clients, no matter what new challenge will arise. Our guides were incredibly patient throughout the entire trip. I felt very comfortable, even when I had the feeling I could not make it any further since I experience slide parts of the altitude sickness. I must say, that I would not have made it to the top without the incredible support of the guides from VIVA AFRICA TOURS. Thank you so much once again. The accommodation in the tends were extremely good. As to the culinary aspect, I was positively surprised by what a huge variety of food we were provided with. I have the deepest respect for the cook and of course the porters. They did an amazing job of carrying all the equipment, food, and water. After all, I must admit, that I do not have any regrets about signing up spontaneously. The trip with VIVA AFRICA TOURS was really worth it. It was an outstanding and overwhelming experience, which I am really thankful for. After one and a half years passed by, I am still thinking about it. It was just very unique and special. Concluding I would like to address my deepest compliments to the crew, especially to the guides. If it wasn´t for them, I would probably not have made it to the highest mountain of Africa. A great trip to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro with KITANO. It's such a wonderful experience to stand up there in almost 6.000 m. Hard to find words for it. The tour via the Machange Route was perfectly organized by Kitano Tours And Safaris and the price was absolutely reasonable. On top of it, we (four people from Sweden, Portugal and Germany) had a lot of fun with our great tourguides Ally and Emmanuel. Without them we would have never made it to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro!

Trip was a great adventure. A long awaited dream come true. It was a great feeling to be back in Tanzania. A special thank you to Juma and Amos for their wonderful hospitality. I enjoyed their presence and the fine conversations we had. The accommodation in the new gesthouse of Rafiki backers & gesthouse was excellent. Clean room, hot shower, god toilet, wifi, free laundry and stunning views of the roof terrace. On a clear day you can see the Kili. You can make here nice pictures also of the beautiful sunset. The day started with a god breakfast with friendly service. If you want you can walk or go boy taxi to Moshi center. At the end of the day you can eat delicious at Uhuru museum across Rafiki. Don't forget to drink a goed cold Kilimanjaro beer! After 'n challenging climb of mount Meru, we started with the highlight of our trip, the climbing of the Kilimanjaro. The organisation of Kitano Tours And Safaris was perfect. We did the 8 days Lemosho route and we made is to the summit. It was incredibly beautiful. Special thanks to our guides Hamis and French and their great team. KitanoTours has good equipment and good people. The cook has cooked well and tasty for us. Thanks to the experience of Hamis and his really great knowledge of the mountain, it has become an unforgettable climb to the summit. He is the best guide you could wish. Thanks again Faraja. Our lead guide was Juma and assistant guide was his brother, Amosh. They were fantastic, as were the porters and support staff we had. We had a great time and all the team really helped to make our trip!
