This is a great option if you want a longer trek for acclimatization. The route approaches Mount Kilimanjaro from the West, beginning with a long drive from Moshi to Londorossi Gate. From there, the first two days are spent trekking through the rainforest to Shira Ridge.
The route joins the Machame route near Lava Tower after Shira 2 Camp and proceeds to Lava Tower then head down towards Barranco Valley via the Southern Circuit before summiting from Barafu and descending through the Mweka route.
Hilbastours: Offers 6, 7 days climb but 8 days is preferable for the best opportunity to acclimatize properly.
