Day 1:
Dar es Salaam to Selous Game Reserve
Fly Dar es Salaam to the Selous, landing at local Airstrip, Selous Lower (Mtemele), where our safari guide will welcome you and drive you to the lodge.
After lunch, head off on an evening game viewing. Surrounded by lush vegetation, these picturesque pools are just cool enough to swim in.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge
Day 2:
Full Day Game Viewing
To make the most of all that the Selous has to offer, we do recommend a full day game drive. Leaving after breakfast, you can expect to drive through a variety of eco systems and are likely to see elephant, buffalo, giraffe, lion, and wild dog to name but a few.
A picnic lunch is set up under the shade of a tree with camp table and chairs. Perhaps stop at the small but significant grave stone of Frederick Courteney Selous, before returning to camp in time to enjoy pre dinner drinks around the fire.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3:
Walking and Rufiji River Cruise
Depart on an early morning game drive, or enjoy a bird walk around camp with our resident naturalist.
In the afternoon, we would suggest heading out on a Rufiji River cruise. Motor up stream toward Stieglers Gorge and then slowly float back down the river in our custom-built boats. Cat and Tiger fish are prolific in the river.
If you’d like to try fishing, we will provide rods and a choice of sites and the kitchen is always delighted to cook your catch for you. Comfortable and with a cool box full of chilled drinks of your choice, an evening on the river is exceptional.

Day 4:
Fly Back to Dar es Salaam
Enjoy a last morning in Selous before your guide drives you to Mtemere Airstrip to meet your onward flight.
