Company description
In 1998, the Trans Africa Railway Corporation (TARC) was acquired as a legacy asset by SAIF. For 20 years, TARC had a concession with the Tanzanian Railway Corporation for the ownership and operation of the Kidatu break of gauge transhipment facility in Tanzania. This facility enabled freight to move between the 1000mm German gauge and 1066mm Imperial gauge rail systems. In 2001, AIIM was appointed as Fund Manager and in 2004, SAIF disposed of its equity interest in TARC.
